NCC is currently accepting resumes for adjunct faculty part-time positions throughout this academic year, in the event of vacancies. ACCOUNTING/BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION: Accounting Adjunct Instructors: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree plus an advanced degree, one of which must be in accounting. A CPA or CMA license, practical experience, or teaching experience is required. (Reply Box AF 1-12)

Business Administration: Adjunct Instructors: Minimum Qualifications: Master of Business Administration Degree in Management, plus practical work and/or teaching experience. (Reply Box AF 2-12)

AFRICANA STUDIES: Adjunct Instructors: Master's Degree in Africana Studies, Doctorate preferred; For AFR Theatre, Bachelor's Degree and experience in Black Theatre. (Reply Box AF 3-12)

ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES: Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Microbiology Adjunct Instructors: Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in one of the biological sciences or equivalent. College or advanced placement teaching in the Anatomical, Physiological or Microbiological sciences required. Candidate will teach anatomy and physiology and/or medical microbiology. Medical Lab Technology Adjunct Instructors: ASCP certified as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. Master's Degree and teaching experience preferred. (Reply Box AF 5-12)

Physical Therapist Assistant Adjunct Instructors: Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in physical therapy, or Associate's Degree in Applied Science for PTA's; licensed and registered in New York State as a physical therapist or certified as a physical therapist assistant or eligible. Recommendations: Experience in clinical physical therapy practice including knowledge of the role of the PTA; Classroom, laboratory or in-service teaching or clinical instruction or Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE). Involvement in APTA; continuing education. Currently in physical therapy practice. (Reply Box AF 6-12)

Radiologic Technology Adjuncts: Baccalaureate Degree in Radiologic Science or related field, five years of teaching experience at an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, ARRT Certification and New York State License. (Reply Box 7-12)

Radiation Therapy Technology Adjuncts: ARRT registered in Radiation Therapy. New York State License in Radiation Therapy. Bachelor's Degree preferred. (Reply Box 8-12)

Respiratory Care Adjunct Instructors: Baccalaureate Degree in Respiratory Care (or AAS in Respiratory Care with a Baccalaureate Degree in a related field; AAS in Respiratory Care with ten years full time clinical respiratory care experience may be substituted for clinical adjunct faculty in specialty areas only as approved by the Program Director), five years full time clinical respiratory care experience in an acute care hospital setting; NBRC registered therapist (RRT); New York State Licensed Respiratory Therapist. Surgical Technology Adjunct Instructors: Minimum requirements: Five years current operating room experience; CNOR/CST certification (CST is mandatory); BSN in Nursing or Bachelor's in Allied Health Sciences; BCLS certified. (Reply Box AF 10-12)

ART: Adjunct Instructors: Master's Degree and/or a Masters in Fine Arts Degree in an art-related field and recent college-level teaching required. Be able to demonstrate continuing artistic growth and involvement in his/her areas of specialty through current art exhibitions, freelance work, and/or publication and presentation of research papers in a given field. Must re-qualify for any class he/she hasn't taught for five years. Please be prepared to furnish (if contacted for interview) samples of own work, samples of student work and sample syllabuses of courses taught where available.  (Reply Box AF 11-12)

Computer Graphic Adjunct Instructor: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Recent college-level teaching preferred. Knowledge of one or more of the following required skills: graphic design, desktop publishing, web design, animation, digital video production, 3D modeling and video game development. Knowledge of one or more of the following software applications is also required: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Final Cut, Premier, After Effects, Maya and Unity. Art Fashion Techniques/Design Fundamentals Adjunct Instructors: Teaching Art 135 Design Fundamentals, Art 136 Fashion Art Techniques I, Art 235 Fashion Art Techniques II, and Art 236 Fashion Art Techniques III must have professional Seventh Avenue experience in the field of fashion design and/or an A.A. degree in a related field. Photography Adjunct Instructors: M.A. or M.F.A. and recent college teaching experience. For studio photography and photojournalism, Bachelor's Degree and professional experience in the field required. Instructors teaching within the Photography Area must possess and demonstrate adequate knowledge of Digital Imaging techniques and processes. This shall include a competent knowledge of the imaging workflow from capture to print. Include where available: a letter of application, curriculum vitae, link to your website, and three references. Please be prepared to furnish (if contacted for interview) a portfolio of your own work, samples of student work and sample course syllabi and to demonstrate adequate knowledge of Digital Imaging techniques and processes. BIOLOGY: Adjunct Instructors: Masters or equivalent degree + a minimum of two years college biology teaching experience. Relevant life experience in some aspect of Biology, such as research or curriculum innovation and development may be considered in lieu of one year of college teaching. (Reply Box AF 15-12)

CHEMISTRY: Adjunct Instructors: Minimum qualifications: Master's Degree in chemistry or closely related field with college teaching experience required. PhD preferred. (Reply Box AF 16-12)

COMMUNICATIONS: Adjunct Instructors: In addition to a Master's Degree, all instructors are required to have some combination of the following, appropriate to the discipline:

a. Experience teaching in their discipline on the college level;
b. Experience teaching in their discipline in a professional setting;
c. Professional experience in media production;
d. Graduate training in TESOL;
e. ASLTA certification;
f. Professional experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
g. SEPI rating of advanced or better

Specific disciplines include: Interpersonal/Human Communication, Rhetoric, Film or Media Studies, Speech Pathology, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, or a Deaf related field) unless departmental needs require that a generalist be hired. (Reply Box AF 17-12)

Communication Arts Adjunct Instructor: Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Communications Arts. Instructor must be able to teach Interpersonal Communications and/or Public Speaking. (Reply Box AF 18-12)

Media Arts Adjunct Instructors: Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Media Arts and/or professional experience in Radio/TV and/or Film Production. (Reply Box AF 19-12)

American Sign Language Adjunct Instructors: Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in ASL teaching or a related field, teaching experience, preferable at the community college level, and preferably hold a professionally recognized national certification (ASLTA). (Reply Box AF 20-12)

CRIMINAL JUSTICE: Adjunct Instructors: Masters Degree in one of the following disciplines:

a. Criminal Justice;
b. Criminology;
c. Sociology;
d. Social Work;
e. Public Administration;
f. Professional Studies in Criminal Justice.

Professional experience in the appropriate Criminal Justice agency necessary and prior teaching in a higher education institution preferred. (Reply Box AF 21-12)

Fire Science Adjunct Instructors:  Master's Degree required, paid professional experience in a fire service, teaching experience and the ability to teach in a variety of curriculum areas required. Fire Science is part of the Criminal Justice Department. (Reply Box AF 21a - 12)

ECONOMICS/FINANCE: Adjunct Instructors:  Minimum Qualifications: MA in Economics or MBA plus 30 credits in Economics or Finance; PhD in economics preferred. College level teaching experience highly recommended. (Reply Box AF 22-12)

ENGINEERING/PHYSICS/TECHNOLOGY: Adjunct Instructors: Engineering/Technology Adjuncts: Masters in Engineering with teaching and/or professional experience required. (Reply Box AF 23-12)

Physics Adjuncts: Masters in Physics, Ph.D. preferred with teaching and/or professional experience required. (Reply Box AF 24-12)

ENGLISH: Adjunct Instructors: Minimum Qualifications: MA or MFA required; PhD preferred in English, Rhetoric, Composition Studies, TESOL, Journalism, Creative Writing, Drama, or related multidisciplinary degrees; two years recent college teaching experience in composition and literature: (earned PhD substitutes for one year of college teaching experience). FOREIGN LANGUAGES: Adjunct Instructors: Minimum Qualifications: Masters in the target language, college level teaching experience and demonstrated competence in incorporating current technology into Foreign Language instruction. (Reply Box AF 26-12)

HEALTH/PHYSICAL EDUCATION/ RECREATION: Adjunct Instructors: Master's Degree in Physical Education or Health Education or specific health area of course offered (i.e. Human Sexuality, Community Health, Substance Abuse, etc). (Reply Box AF 27-12)

HISTORY/POLITICAL SCIENCE/GEOGRAPHY: Adjunct Instructors: Masters of Art in the discipline of History, Geography or Political Science + 30 credits beyond MA in History or Political Science; PhD preferred. (Reply Box AF 28-12)

HOSPITALITY BUSINESS: Food and Nutrition Adjuncts: Instructors needed to teach basic Nutrition and Dietary Management classes. Registered Dietitian required. Master's Degree in related field preferred or Bachelor's + 5 years senior level industry experience. Must have clinical experience. (Reply Box AF 29-12)

Food Service: Adjunct Instructors: needed for Culinary classes. Masters Degree preferred, industry experience required. (Reply Box AF 30-12)

Hotel Administration: Adjunct Instructors: needed to teach entry level Hotel Management classes, Industry experience required, Master's Degree preferred. (Reply Box AF 31-12)

Technical Assistant: For Culinary Labs: Needed to assist culinary instructors. Associate's Degree required, industry experience a must. (Reply Box AF 32-12)

LEGAL STUDIES: Adjunct Instructors: Must be an attorney duly admitted to practice law in the State of New York, including experience in the specialty of law being taught and experience working with paralegals in a law firm setting. One exception is Law 309, which can be taught by a Paralegal who has actual experience in running law office as a Paralegal and has excellent computer skills. (Reply Box AF 33-12)

LIBRARY: Adjunct Instructors: Masters of Library Science required. (Reply Box AF 34-12)

MARKETING/RETAILING/FASHION: Adjunct Instructors: Minimum requirement is a Master's Degree. Individuals must also demonstrate current knowledge of respective fields. (Reply Box AF 35-12)

MATH/COMPUTER SCIENCE/ITE: Adjunct Instructors: Masters in Mathematics or related field (e.g. Engineering or Physics). For teaching remedial classes, at least undergraduate Calculus II or above. For Computer Sciences, Masters in Computer Sciences or related field. (Reply Box AF 36-12)

MORTUARY SCIENCE: Adjunct Instructors: Master's Degree and valid New York State Funeral Director's License. (Reply Box AF 37-12)

MUSIC: Adjunct Instructors: Masters in Music required, teaching experience preferred. For Applied Music (lessons), college degree and performance and teaching experience required. Masters in Music Performance preferred. (Reply Box AF 38-12)

NURSING: Adjunct Instructors: Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Nursing, current New York State RN License, and recent clinical experience with strong medical-surgical nursing background. A second discipline teaching Parent/Child or Psychiatric Nursing preferred. Associate's Degree Nursing teaching experience preferred. (Reply Box AF 39-12)

OFFICE TECHNOLOGY: Adjunct Instructor: Master's Degree required. Candidate must have previous college teaching and curriculum development experience and recognized expertise in office-support subjects; such as, Business Writing, Office Management, and Office Procedures. Must be proficient in the latest versions of Microsoft Office, Professional Suite, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Internet/Intranet. Knowledge of Blackboard CE8 desirable.(Reply Box AF 40-12 )

Health Information Technology: Adjunct Instructor: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or related field with RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P credentials required. Master's Degree in health related field preferred. A minimum of three years recent work experience in medical coding/medical records required. Must be proficient in latest versions of 3M Coding, Classification and Reimbursement System; Encoder Pro; and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Blackboard CE8 desirable. PHILOSOPHY: Adjunct Instructors: Master's Degree in Philosophy or two years in an accredited doctoral program. (Reply Box AF 42-12)

PHYSICAL SCIENCES: Adjunct Instructors: Master's Degree in one of the Physical Sciences (Chemistry, Geology, Astronomy, Meteorology/Atmospheric Science, Climatology, Environmental Science, Biology, Oceanology) depending on the course offered. PSYCHOLOGY: Adjunct Instructors: Masters in Psychology, PhD in Psychology and prior teaching experience preferred; to teach introductory courses in the following subjects:

a. General Psychology  
b. Educational Psychology
c. Child Psychology

e. Lifespan Development
f.  Psychology of the Exceptional Child
g. Introduction to Developmental Disabilities and Foundations Education

SOCIOLOGY/ANTHROPOLOGY/SOCIAL WORK: Adjunct Instructors: Master's Degree in subject field and college teaching required. (Reply Box AF 46-12)
