Where is Graduation?
The graduation ceremony will take place at Nassau Community College Quadrangle.
Where and when do I get measured?
Cap, gown, hood and tassel can be picked up at the College Bookstore on campus during normal operating hours of the Bookstore beginning April 21, 2016. Be reminded that this custom designed academic regalia is yours to keep.
Is there a fee for the academic regalia?
The Cap, Gown, Hood and Tassel are part of the all purpose fee.
Are there tickets?
Tickets are not required and you may invite as many guests as you wish.
Where do I go the day of graduation?
Students are to report to North Hall. You will be receiving another letter, which includes additional information about graduation.
My grandmother is coming, she can’t walk far.
Please go to the information table near the Quad and assistance will be given to you there
Are individual names read?
Do I receive my diploma that day?
No, they are mailed to your home by the Registrar’s Office. This process is automatically completed following certification of transcripts and the printing of diplomas, so allow for several weeks to receive yours.
How long will the commencement exercise take?
Approximately 2 ½ hours.
Who will be the speaker?
As in the past, the College President, a representative of the County, President of Student Government and the Valedictorian.
I belong to Phi Theta Kappa, how do I get the gold tassel and hood?
You should receive information from Phi Theta Kappa directly.
What classes does the Ceremony cover?
There is only one ceremony, which covers August 2015, December 2015 and May 2016.
I lost my copy of the letter and the receipt?
If you have registered for graduation prior to the cutoff date of February 29, 2016 your name can be confirmed from a list at the Bookstore.
Where do I park?
If you enter from Hempstead Turnpike park in the West parking areas and walk to the Quad. If you come from the North side off Stewart Avenue enter on Endo Blvd. and park in the East parking areas. There will be no vehicle traffic across the campus.
